Try horseback riding along the beach or on the mountain trails a short drive
away. In Cabarete take a
windsurfing lesson or try kite sailing in the bay;
or just lie on the beach and watch people from all over the world demonstrate
their skills. Cabarete is second only to Santa Domingo for its variety of
restaurants, bars and night life. The village of
Sosua, only a few more miles
to the west, is a great place to scuba dive or snorkel along the
reefs. Shopping is plentiful in both
Sosua and
Cabarete. For children of all
ages there is
Ocean World, The Aerial Tramway, The Markets and the Tropical
Gardens in Puerto Plata.
Thirty minutes to the east of La Casa Playa is
Playa Grande, the world
class golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones. This course is said to rival
Pebble Beach for beauty and challenge.
After a day of activities, it's so nice to return to your own quiet villa by
the sea.
